Youth Group

The 7Step Hnad Dance Academy is sponsoring a FREE Hand Dance program for youth between 8 and 17 years of age. Young adults between 18 and 22 may also participate if he or she is a student in high school, or college. Regardless of age, all participants must be in good standing at their school.

The purpose of the program is:

  • to encourage our youth to learn the African-American art form of D.C. Hand dancing, and to promote and preserve the art of hand dancing through youth;
  • to provide an opportunity for our youth to participate in an organized fun activity that emphasizes positive social skills, self-confidence, self-control, self-discipline, and self-identity; also

  • to provide an environment that nurtures male and female relationships through positive interactions.
